About Me
Hi there, my name is Riley Anderson, and I am the founder of Modern Edge Music School.
For the past 15 years, I’ve enjoyed a diverse musical career both as a guitar and euphoniumist.
I started playing euphonium at the age of 12 in my middle school band, and I picked up the guitar the following year. Between both instruments, I’ve done over 100 performances in a variety of settings from, rock bands, solo gigs/recitals, jazz groups, wind ensembles, British style brass bands, chamber groups, to name a few.
I received my master of music degree in euphonium and electric guitar from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK in 2021 and a Bachelor of Music in euphonium and guitar from Central Michigan University in 2019.
In 2016, I discovered my love for teaching students, and began offering students private lessons.
I knew at that moment, that it was my calling to help inspire, and gift people with music, which later inspired me to start Modern Edge Music School.
In addition to music, I am also a West Coast Swing competitor, a Modern Swing partner dance style, and teach beginner west coast swing as well as wedding dance lessons!
Whether you’re a parent that wants a creative activity for their child, or an adult that always wanted to play guitar, I would love to help you achieve your goals. I look forward to sharing the gift of music with you.

My favorite part is the jam session after each lesson where he gives you a couple notes that sound good with the song that he plays you get to freestyle play. Ahaha even if you don’t know what you’re doing it feels like you do because each note goes so well with the song. Would 10/10 recommend Riley..definitely happy I found him as a teacher!"

When and Where
Lessons take place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. In person and online classes are both available.

All you need to take lessons is a guitar, a willingness to learn, as well as the books we assign you. If you don't have a guitar yet, reach out and I'll help you figure it out!
